Flood Rescue Team in Training

The team were tasked to assist police and fire with a car that had left the Shore Road near Invergordon and landed in the Cromarty Firth.  One male casualty had been dragged onto the side of the car by passersby to stop him from drowning.  Inverness Coastguard deployed their Flood Water Rescue Equipment to assist the winchman from Rescue 137 in immobising the casualty.  The Coastguard inflatable boat was used to place the stretcher on and after almost 1hr the casualty was taken ashore then winched onboard the Rescue Helicopter and transported to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.  The Fire Service and Invergordon Lifeboat assisted with lighting up the scene.
