Events & PR

The team carries out a wide range of important incident prevention work throughout the year including:

  • Safety talks to local schools
  • Safety talks to youth organisations
  • Attending the ‘Safe Highlander’ event
  • Attending local shows & highland Games
  • Carrying out weekend patrols and giving safety advice / CG66 forms

The team also is increasing being asked to provide safety cover at large events alongside the other emergency services. Two examples of this are the Rock Ness music festival and the Highland 2007 launch party. Both involved many thousands of people, next or close to rivers or loches, so it was important to ensure incidents didn’t happen and if they did that they were promptly dealt with.
