Inverness sector covers the Inner Moray Firth from Alness Point in the Cromarty Firth to Covesea Skerries, West of Lossiemouth. There is a wide mixture of coastline within the sector from sandy beaches, short cliffs, rocky shores and muddy bays. The sector is also responsible for water search and rescue on Loch Ness.

- Inverness (CRT)
- Cromarty (CRT)
- Burghead (CRT)
- Nairn (CRTI)
- Fort Augustus (CRTI)
CRT – Coastguard Rescue Team
CRTI – Coastguard Rescue Team Initial Response
All teams have search capabilities
Some are fully trained in RRT (Rope Rescue Techniques)
Members from 3 teams make up the area FRT (Flood Rescue Team)
Our sector manager (full time) is Hamish Young who is based at the Inverness Coastguard station.
